    Absolutely not! That was a very poorly worded compliment! About the only time I DO like wide whites is with spun caps. 'Specially on a forty!

    Mine's had them since at least June of 1959..Verified by this pic from Oct 1959 issue of Rods Illustrated.

  29. This was my everyday driver Chrysler Hemi-powered '40 Ford Coupe in 1956. I bought the Moon discs directly from Moon Equipment Company. They were the screw-on type at the time and required putting tubes in the tires. I ran them for several years until 'Gyppo Auto Parts' stores started selling them in snap-on varieties and I took them off after seeing a bunch of squirrels in '48 Buick 4-door with the moon discs on it. I replaced them with Chrysler New Yorker 'gold star' hub caps.

    Back in the '50's I had the notion that only cops, farmers, and cheapskates had blackwall tires....

    Some impressions never change! LOL!
