Possibly a dumb question about '32 shock arms 'n links...

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by GothInA28Tudor, Nov 14, 2012.

  1. Basically I have a line on a sweet deal for some mint vintage '32 Ford shock arms & dog bone links (front & back), but I'm wondering if, and/or will I run into any major problems using them for my '28 A build?

Obviously they look different because they are different, my question is whether the angles and lengths of the arms are going to make it a huge difference to the point it isn't worth the trouble...
I have one original rear and one front off of my A, but I've never had one of the '32's in hand before so hard for me to judge by the pic I have to make an accurate comparison...

The price I can get them for compared to what I can get repos from Snyder's, after taxes, shipping and duties, isn't that far apart, but I would rather get something vintage over the repos any day...

Am I being a retread for not knowing this?

  2. I have 40 style front shocks on my A bone with split links and 32/34 style perch pins. The shock arms required some fitting but it all looks factory.

  3. Well if you can do that, then what I was hoping to do should be a snap, since the A and the '32 are closer than those combo's
    Thanks for the reply, man!
