Last Friday night at Escondido's Cruisin' Grand 12 vintage Top Fuelers were on display. The best part was when they fired them up two at a time! Here's a few pics, lots more in my Cruisin' Grand album...
I can't stand it. I swear I'm gonna rob a bank. Look at those things man....everything about 'em is just beautiful.
good god damn that is cool...... someone tell all them boys hey need to come run against marty at our show in October...... Im sure he will welcome the compe***ion....
One of the "Magicars" and the S&H -- A couple of Kent Fuller beauties! I just had breakfast with Fuller this morning, then came home to find this neat thread on the HAMB. I forwarded the pics for him to enjoy. Mike Bishop
Couple of FEDs on the street. Even "Big Willy" never pulled that off... I just wish we could see these cars make a full p*** again. I get teared up every time I hear them cackle, and it isn't just from the fumes. I do remember a race between a couple retired funnies on the street once in Portland but that's a long story probably better not repeated...
Those are just cacklefest cars. They are an awesome part of our history and I am happy to see them restored but they don't run them becasue they wont p*** todays tech and they are to valuable to take the chance. See ya in Oct.!
"I do remember a race between a couple retired funnies on the street once in Portland but that's a long story probably better not repeated..." Man, you can't leave it at that. Do tell. r
Hell yeah! We'll put you up in the spare room...pancakes every morning and hot rod heaven Bro'! It never hurts to have a little german engineering in a mean ol' hot rod...bring some cash with ya too.
They did the same thing last year at Cruisin' Grand, in September, I remember, because it was the same time as my 35 year High School reunion. I heard those ****ers fire up, and I was GONE from the reunion... I managed through a friend of a friend of a friend, to get across the tape, and close enough that I could feel the heat from the zoomies...my heart was palpitating, my eyes were burning, and I couldn't breathe.... it just doesn't get any better than that.. I got about 100 digital photos that night, and still look at them from time to time DAMN that was bad ***.
