I'd get rid of the trunk lock, too. Then leave it plain.

Just to address the rake, the rear shot exaggerates the angle. The car is sitting on level concrete right now and I just measured it at the back of the front wheel opening, and the front of the rear wheel opening. Just 2 1/2" rake. If I drop it 2" or so as suggested, it will be very close to level. I do still like some rake...........

Yep, stuck the whites on for the weekend. Check the archives and they really did used to run around like that.

This is some really nice trunk art but I don't think it's the kind you're looking for...

First off, leave it how it is. Resist the urge to "add on". it looks great as is.

Oh yeah, and the whitewalls on the front look KILLER!!!

There are so many anti-whitewall-on-performance-car guys, but your olds with this set up looks so freaking cl***ic, old school, and period correct to me.

I see tons of pictures of guys out on the drag strip with whitewalls and steelies from bac k in the day.

I put a strong vote in to keep this look.

    Simple, clean, and bad ***.

I think you need a second car as a project. Haha. Instead of changing this perfect car just work on the other project...

caution type reflector strip and a lighted neon stop sign would be fitting:eek::D

That side profile pic has me liking the 50s Olds the way they were..

How about some pics of a few survivors, from a life long, totally addicted Olds lover? Sadly he p***ed away in 03, as I wish I could have known him.

First pic row is 56 Conv, built 394, trips, and rare factory stick trans..

2nd pic row is 57 Conv, stock 371 with orig J2 trips and rare stick trans..

Last pic...61 Conv quarter window: "show your colors" ;)

I wish I could add audio of Rod Bernards 1959 hit; "This should go on forever, this should never, ever, end..."

keep it simple. I agree with them wayyy up there^^^^^^^^^ less is more...and thats coming from a pinstriper that pinstripes anything and everything that will stand still long enough for me to stripe LOL

  25. less is more. i like simple...but i do think this could use just a little something on the trunk lid. i kinda dig the idea of a hamb logo. it needs something. but that something needs to be simple.

Iron Lords got that **** trademarked...:D

Don't touch the rake and leave it plain and simple because there is absolutely nothing boring about this car!!

I think this thing is SOOOOO BAD ***!!! If you do any striping at all, I would suggest a group of three black tear drops above the lock, like Tommy the Greek style. I did this on the dash of a Ford wagon... It belongs to Matt of the Dragoons. He wanted subtle, and I believe a simple, restrained design like that can add so much without adding anything at the same time. If it's any testament to its subtlety, his lady friend didn't know I had striped it yet when she went to sit in the car...

But as the others said, your car looks perfect the way it is. White walls in front, the rake, everything is freakin PERFECT!!

Ask him what he thinks it needs and is he willing to pay for it? that generally shuts them up! HRP
