Nice. About time i checked on here again. And i hear ya on the bed liner. Its both kool and sucks at the same time, and its amazing how many cans it takes to get proper coverage.
Thanks! This week I'm working on plumbing, getting the air suspension all finalized, gas tank dropped in there, trunk latch setup popper bullshit done, ect ect. so not a ton to look at. but i'll post pics next week
The pics tell the story as far as bodywork goes. But in the last 2 weeks I've gotten the air suspension all plumbed, Brake lines plumbed and bled, & everything all hooked up to make it be able to be moved under its own power. Here comes the sad part.. Yesterday I got it off the Jackstands, got it to move under its own power (I didn't take pics!) put it on a trailer and put it in storage. The place I'm storing it I'll still be able to work on it on occasion, but there is no compressed air there, so not a ton will get done there. This car is fucking with my head. I have enough other things going on in my life that I need to put it down and walk away for awhile. Prioritys, Prioritys... Its the sad reality of life, and I can see how people take 10 years to build a car. I'm so burnt out When I got home last night to an empty garage, I actually felt relieved, like when you send off a project you've worked long and hard on to the owner.. It was also nice to sleep 7 hours last night. I havent slept over 6 hours in months, because I was bustin ass! The wife is going to have our kid any day now, so I'm looking forward to catching up on some sleep before the baby comes~! I'll Keep you posted, but don't plan on hearing from me for a while
Well Ladies and Gents. I'm back to show my very limited progress over the summer months. I have a few more pics than what i'm going to post today, but i've been trolling the forum today and feel as if I'd let you all in on an update. Here's the little rascals that have occupied my time all summer. Not that it was a horrible thing! - - - Got the ol Mild 350 running well! It has belts and a radiator on it now so I've driven it. Needs a couple adjustments, but sounds amazing! PS I know you hate the pullies and valve covers. Sorry! I finished one of the fender section jobs! -Here's where I'm going to loose a few ultra traditional folks.. Hell, maybe even get me banned from the site! Here she is outside, 90% wired and sound deadened, waiting for me to drag it back to my home shop and finish the bumpers and paint the whole thing.
Welcome back!! Thanks for the updates...and thanks for the new saying: "Wet panties height.."!!! Boom.
Ride is looking slick dude! WET PANTIES HEIGHT!!!! Rocks so hard! Keep it up man, gonna look killer when done.
they are 2002 Jeep Liberty headlights.. I was a little scared to post em, because some people on here are pretty anti- new school. Thanks for the encouragement!
I know, right... I've only been trying for 3 years now... and this year it s only 2 miles from my house so ill push the Damn thing ... lol it's going to happen one way or another!
Awesome work man, shouldn't sweat the timeline, I must have over 8yrs in my 51 with not as many mods or family commitments. Pretty sure I like working on it more than driving it. How's your tire - fender clearance at full lock with that ride height? I'm running 670 x 15 firestones on stock rims that I'd like to reverse without changing the offset much but man it's looking real tight at full lock and mine must be at least a couple of inches higher.
That car looks sick. Hopefully one day I will know how do all the work you have completed. I can't wait to see this one completed.
Awesome build bro!!! I'm in the process of a ls/4l60e in my 54 Chevy then bags. I had to subscribe to this. Very cool car!! Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
My tires are also 670s on stock wheels. when I had it aligned on the table it would go lock to lock at ride height with very very little room to spare. But now that the frame is assembled unaligned it rubs pretty hard. I gotta get the alignment done and see where its at, but i'm thinking i may have to roll the fenders a bit where the tire will rub. No biggie really, As and ex-minitrucker, i'm kinda used to not being able to steer.
Just came across this thread, SICK build......Glad you left the roof line. Can't wait to see it painted. Dano
