I have been tossing around the idea of a 60's style hot rod / modern race car fabrication / Bonniville car for my next build. The ch***is would be mainly 1.75" dom .120 wall tube, rollcage, etc. and spec to p*** tech for 200 mph. The idea is to use as much as I can from the Galaxie, with 5 window body, all cleeean, NOT a "rat rod". Last weekend my 'ol lady and I went out to my friends ranch where I dug out this '28/'29 style coupe body from a ditch the farmer had dismantled for the axles to use on the hay trailer, probly 40+ years ago. It went well and was suprised how good of shape its in for being in the dirt so long. I also dug out this Galaxie 500 from the barn where it sat for 35+years with rat ****/ nests/ hantavirus everywhere. It has a 352 fe block, I haven't been able to get under it yet but I'm hoping for a C4 trans. Heres some pics, kind cool...
Well I am not seeing the galaxie but I am probably being impatient. I am guessing it is a '64 or newer? Nevermind.
Ya might just wanna turn that Galaxie over and shake it out. WOWEE! That A looks superior for bein out so long. And I'd keep the coke roof. Juuust because.
Great find. Keep the hubcaps off the Galaxie, they bring big bucks. What's that white stuff all over everything...? ;-) Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
You should catch hell for referring to a 5 window Model A -- that could be a coupe, Victoria, or tudor.....
Looks like a '28-'29 leather back coupe with homemade farmer engineered rear panel and Coke sign roof. Very cool!!!
Very cool find, Yes, I am Jealous of the Model A Coupe... I like the "High Performance" holes drilled in the breather of the Galaxie.
Nice 66 galaxie, i can smell it from here! Ahhh gross. And The coupe body, i would be so excited i wouldnt be able to contain myself. Soooooo lucky. Nice Work giving them attention. So cool, thanks for sharing!
What looks like a patch panel on the p***enger side is actually just covering straight metal... Yes, the Coke sign will be saved, maybe dimple died and cleaned up. I am going to see if this Gal will run this weekend, go from there if the motor and trans gets used. I cant wait to start bending tube for a ch***is, but needs to sit on the back burner and collect parts before its worked on kinda thing.... 60's style hot rod/ race car/ but heavy on cleeean fabricated parts. Will post pics when it gets built.... but need to get back to the 57 F100 build for now.
My 29 pickup I had also had a coca cola roof put on sometime in the 30's. Funny that your coupe has one too. I sold the truck but I still have the roof hanging in my garage.
