I'm incredibly stupid for not asking what colors were used.... It is stunning, except for the gold accents it's near the top of my list.

Does anyone recognize it, know how to get hold of this owner?

    Thanks.

I have deleted my previous comment. Here is a post from the owner of the forum that puts it best:

I used to do this every year, but haven't for the past two. And I think it's time to remind folks that this is a traditional hot rod and custom forum. It's time to refocus and remember that.

What does that mean, exactly? I've tried for years to put it into proper words and can't. Some of you know what I am getting at. Others probably don't. Sometimes it's as hard to define cars as it is people, ya know?

Anyway, as moderators we are gonna start tightening the reigns a bit. Please don't be offended if your off topic vehicle gets deleted. It's not a personal thing at all, it's an editorial one.

The Jalopy Journal is dedicated to spreading the gospel of 1965 and below traditional hot rods and customs. Please remember that.

Streetrods, billet, wild paint, low profile tires, kit cars etc... stir up drama.

It's stunning except the gold? Really, I thought the gold tied it all together very nicely and really completed the plexi hood insert and great taste!

    Bwahahahahaha!!!!!

  6. Well it is Murphy. At least it has a real Murphy looking paint job.

I think the two colors in question are red, or brown, ah who am I foolin' I don't now have a clue what they are. lighter and darker.

Given the level of talent and the willingness of those here to help a fellow traveler, I am not as sure that I'm in the wrong place. Yes, I'm not building a 50's sled or resurrecting a cancer-ridden '32, but some parts of the hobby (and it IS just a hobby) are universal regardless of the level of finishing touches applied and the materials used to reach our goals.

I've rescued and restored a few 30's junkers while I was young... I just can't do that anymore. I need to enjoy the hobby a different way now. I hope you don't mind.

So go buy a brand new Steel 34 3 window body from Steve`s Auto Restoration and build a traditional hot rod.

I agree, but the red/maroon color combination is what I'm after. You can keep the peek-a-boo hood.

So, all else being the same, "traditional" means steel? Brand new frame, engine/trans, wheels, interior..... new steel body is 'in', new 'gl*** body is 'out'?

In my day, if you had fenders on your ride and you weren't leaving oil on the ground (or burning more oil than gas), you weren't driving a 'rod. I guess things have changed over time. Cars that were new when I was in H.S. are now 'rods - with fenders. I'm feeling old.

Seriously?,,gl*** cars are not everybody's favorite but a lot of us own or have owned gl*** cars but the looked pretty much like what the original still cars looked like.

The car that you posted with all the billet and painted running boards and exaggerated gill and tucked? front fenders, plexigl*** hood is more of a high dollar show boat.

There have been many gl*** cars built on this site that were in keeping with the traditional look.this car is far from what the hamb is about.HRP

  16. Can this thread please be closed? Nothing constructive has been said and it's 16 posts old.

  17. I tried to gess what the colors were, maybe its not constructive but I still tried to guess. So lets back up to 15 posts OK? Hell it ain't my fault if some colors escape me.

I agree. Note that the request for help is for finding the owner of a car, not to play guess the colors or to define 'hot rod' in 10 words or less...

I'd say it's red, burgundy and gold.
