Unreal. It is practically impossible to put into words all the incredible things that occurred this weekend. The faces put to the names, the hugs and cookies, the incredible cars, the awesome cruise, and the drags itself. I got to meet so many nice people, even though there were more I didn’t get to meet. Thanks so much to all the guys that brought their drag cars in from all over the country. I truly didn’t want it to end, and like many others I am making plans for next year.

As I pulled into the parking lot at about 5pm and got out of my spitting and hissing car, I looked around at all the little groups of people sitting or standing chatting, and realized I didn’t recognize anyone. After I checked in to the room, I wandered up to the first group I came to and listened for a bit before someone asked me my “HAMB handle”, and introductions were met all around. Soon this situation was repeated throughout the evening until at around 9 or 10, I was able to point out many of the HAMBers and direct new friends to who they might like to meet; “That’s Plowboy over there in the red ac/dc shirt and the ac/dc flip-flops…” Friday nite was so cool in the parking lot, meeting so many new friends, and listening to 8th grade genius work on his willy’s g***er pickup while webs of lightning laced the underside of the remaining storms of that day.

Saturday we saddled up for the cruise on rt 66 and what a great collection of cars we had tromping our way out of Joplin. Some great drive throughs and stops. I kinda wished I wasn’t driving and could see all the sweet rides buzzing along. We sure gave the farmer’s market a jolt! Thank you WZJunk for putting the cruise together.

What can you say about the Drags? It was incredible, fresh track, idyllic setting, so many killer cars, g***ers, rails, unbelievable. The sights of everyone’s cars busting down the track as the sun slid down over the open fields is etched in my mind forever. I got to meet even more HAMBers, even Ryan briefly. One thing is for sure, there were a lot of HAMBers in those stands for the group photo and the presentation to Marcy, had to be 200 of us at least. So much fun.

And then more fraternizing Saturday eve in the Ramada parking lot, listening to the stories of the evening, rehashing the visuals of the fly-rite boys putting their sickles to the test, broken axles, busted ******s, blown engines, wheel hoppin’ red lighting wait ‘til next year p***es all relived until the pinkness of dawn showed in the east.

The reverie of the long drive home was sparked with laughter at remembrances of poignant moments of the trip. All the while taking the back country roads and keeping an eye out for the glint of chrome or curve of fender of some long lost car reaching out for recognition- “Take me, take ME to the HAMB Drags…..”

Good meeting you man, one of the last ones standing on Saturday night.

I think most people remember the thong and not the flip flops though!

She was the blonde one, not to be confused with little Mike's chicks though. Ha Ha Ha

I wanted to meet the Dirty family but it seems that once I started to make the rounds at the hotel I wouldn't get very far before needing another ****tail, so I just parked my **** in the chair.

I was like HELL YEAH! so she licked it (the one on her arm) and the whole bar was laughing. After that we went to the fetish art show they have here in the winter.

She has videos, there really cool, some vintage looking parts.

I had to wade through 4 pages of Drag posts before I got to yours. If you had digital photographic evidence you would have been more popular! I'm jealous, dude. But thanks for the phone updates. Next year for sure. After all I've read about this year, I cannot miss another one.

And I ***ume by the fact that you were able to write this post that the Imp' made it back okay. You should have taken the '41. you might still be there living the dream...

Tsquared- it was my pleasure having you guys ride along Saturday. I only wish the imp was a bit more comfortable in the back seat! Thanks for lunch at "The Rib Crib" and next year we stop at the "ll0G" for sure.

Keep us posted on how those motor mounts go in.

Bob- you lay off those hotdogs and I am going to find you a green helmet for your blasts down the strip...

    LMAO!!!

I had to buy a disposable camera since I neglected to remember to bring the digital. So I need to drop them off and get them back.

Maybe I should just link your pics into my post? You took some really nice shots for a whippersnapper.
