  1. Words wouldn't begin to describe it. The pics will only prove it really happened.

You really had to be there :p .

I met so many new people, it's too cool to put a face with a name. Just a totally unreal weekend.

Thanks again Ryan for the whole shindig, I guess you are pretty cool :D

    The HAMB Drags Kicked ***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Just rolled in. Blakmerk and I shut down the parking lot at 7:30AM? Sun was coming up, thats all I know. I heard some guys took my tub and were doing laps at 6am?I seem to remember some ****** licking. I spanked Grims flatty then a SCOT blown flatty handed me my ***. Shortbull kinda fell off teh wagon, slept outside Friday night, he is still dazed and confused from all the cool cars and cool people.

Had a great time, see ya'll again next year!

Becks coupe has come a wonderfully long way from the clap trap he originaly brought home.Good goin' Jeff.Just don't forget the Dramamine for extended driving time.LOL
Very sorry to see those new vents in the motor :( .

Jeff,if your out there lookin',I hope the rest of your trip home got better.
The rest of you guy's better look out if he gets that unit repaired in time for "The Day of the Drags" in Austin. It'll be hell on wheels.

I had a great time helpin' the 8th grade genius tinker with his truck so he could get in a few laps:D .This guy is a hard core never say die hand and
I was pleasantly surprised to see the "rear mounted fuel tank won't work with mechanical injectors without a resevoir hypothesis" dispelled with my own eyes. LOL
I got a big kick out of Dave's HELLZAPOPPIN Ride.Hell of a nice guy who is definitely doin' it for luv.

Glad to see Chris get to make some laps in the Dragnfly.WooHoo!

Just a scratch on the surface of all the nice rides that were there:cool: .I can hardly wait for next year.

Here is a link to a few hotel parking lot pics.Didn't get any at the track 'cause the battery ****ped out in my camera.

Did the tub come home with you??

  9. Yup! All the deals we had going went in other directions. Miles bought my favorite Tub, Ron Olmsteads black Nailhead car that was at the first drags.

Well if you can break away from the shop project you will have something to drive to Watertown.

I got back home about 9 pm last night... dozed off looking for this post, so I went to bed (yea, I'm a wimp.) Took today off work too, there are some benifits to self employment.

Man, all weekend my senses were on over load. Met a bunch of HAMBers, most of who's names I won't remember. Faces, yea: cars, most likely: HAMB handles, ummmm maybe a few: real names, lets just say when we meet again, remind me...

Awsome weekend, cool cars, cool people, way layed back atmosphere. Took a load of pictures at the hotel Sat morning, should of waited until Sat night, but then they wouldn't of been as clear. I was supprised how many cars were still in the parking lot @ 8 am Sunday morning.

The weather was HOT, HUMID, and mostly sunny. We hit a little rain on the way in, mostly in the big cities where we had to change interstate routes  and there was some rain all around the area on Thur and Fri, but I never saw any where I was, but then again I was in bed by 1:30 Thurs night, and 3:00 Fri, and by 2:00 Sat night.

We did the HAMB cruise to the Swap Friday. We did the HAMB cruise on Sat, and the Drags Sat night.

Me and the 54 Dodge pick up did our virgin trip down the strip together. Our first run didn't quite go as well as it should have. I did the burn out thing, then came up to stage, and the starter pointed down the track, so I went... with out staging...Kind of like when you know your going to get that first piece, but loose your load before you get it out of your pants. Damnit.:D  Second trip worked out a little better. I thought the truck might do a 20 sec p***, sio when I pulled a 19.83 I wasn't real supprised. The motor was pretty hot, and almost died at mid track, so I let it cool off, flipped the air cleaner lid and made a full power p*** at 18.69. Made 4 (timed  ) runs with a low et of 18.39 and the highest speed was 72.99. I improved my reaction time each p***, though nothing to brag about. The "timed run" was the best race of the many p***es. I beat the red and white 56 Chevy off the line, and could hear him coming the last 1/2 track. He beat me by a car length at the line, but it was fun. And for those of you keeping track, I got 4 second place finishes...:D

So lets recap, A virgin to the HAMB drags takes his virgin trip down the quarter mile for the trucks virgin run. I stayed up too late for this old man, got up too early, saw lots of cars, met lots of people, ran my first trip down a quarter mile. Had a great time and am making plans for next year. Gene

I thought it was ironic that my room was right across from the 12 step information room. Frizby got in trouble for walking down te hallway with a beer! Ha Ha ha

I am sure seeing us all outside drinking was hard on the whole crew there. Ha Ha Ha

  17. With nosurf and LilMike we would have killed the football team!

I'l bet next year the AAA looks for some other place to have the meeting, eh?

The Paster for the foot ball team was walking around pretty late Fri night and early Sat morning, I talked with him a while, he LOVED tha cars. He also made the comment on how neat it was to see such a large group of people that were getting along so well.

    More Pics.

We had a few "late models" that were HAMB rides, and a few that were under cover. A few left before I got any pictures.

  27. Didn't trip a shutter once (well maybe once just to keep the missus happy).

But here's the basics, rolled into to Joplin Friday afternoon. Checked in and went straight to the parking lot to harr*** some folks. Sold someone's old coupe first thing to some old guy that said he could never afford a rod but really liked them. So your coupe didn't get stolen it just changed owners.:D

Talked to one of everyone, don't recall who exactly, but that's the way it goes.

Drove Ryan around in the parking lot for a few minutes. He'll let you know about that I'm sure.

Blah Blah brings us up to late Friday nite. I had a beer with some friends from St Jo. I'm pretty carefull about who I drink around cause I usually get a case of the ***hole, but these are pretty good folks, you should get to know 'em if you get a chance.

Saturday I spent the day wandering around the parking lot makeing sure I didn't miss anyone.

Checked in at the track, pulled a roadster back to the pits with a broke axle.

Made a few p***es on the track, nothin spectacular. Wandered around alot.

The highlites of the day were watching the 8th Grade Genius make a p*** in the Willys. And I Kissed a real pretty lady in the stageing lanes, I hope she isn't mad at me about that. :D

Back to the hotel to say goodby to everyone until the next time.

Oh yea I got some parts that belong to someone from Lees Summit in the back of my truck.

That's real basic and if I left you out of the story well my short term memory isn't that good.

Good times and good friends what else can I say.

  28. Mike, that should be you new sig. line.

  29. Can ANYONE identify where and when I got this basketball size hematoma on my back somtime after midnight Saturday?:D
