I have a 51 Chevy Deluxe project in the works. I have already chopped the roof 3 3/4 inches and am currently sourcing a SBC and Overdrive Transmission. Im looking for some basic info on the SUSPENSION, STEERING, and BRAKES. It currently has all the original parts on it but Im looking to update everything without breaking the bank. I am looking for information on interchangable parts from other models or cars that will fit with little or no modification.(catalogs, parts magazines, websites, ect). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Justin

I used Buffalo Enterprises parts on my Fleetline. Dual master cylinder kit, dropped uprights, and disc brake conversion. His disc brake kit does not move the wheels outward, and has dropped steering arms built in.

Buy a suspension rebuild kit ($350) . It will be like night and day. If u want to lower it on the cheap... Put on some 53-54 uprights. The will drop u about an inch. U can also step the the lower arms for 2 more inches.

  6. I left my 54 front end mostly stock, other than lowered uprights w/new king pins and I cut my coils down a bit. Rides quite well, some day I'd like to go with a Mustang II but thats a lot of$$$
