Here are a few more from B'ville. There were many more, but I didn't get pictures. I was pretty busy and didn't have the time to be the spectator that would allow me to take more. There were some really cool rides that I only caught a quick look at. Maybe next year.
Beautiful pics Paul. And I thought I was done being jealous. I love the team pickup. Who's is that? You gonna be in Bourne Tuesday? Dad and I are making the trip.
I may make the trip over on Tuesday. Traffic keeps me home lately. The team pickup belongs to Matt Schmidt. He's Kens son. It has an old 283, lumpy cam and a 5 speed. He kept up to the hot rods all day long. Sometimes even set the pace. He doubled as our rolling battery charger. When the batts went low on the roadster due to a bad gen, he's swap the batteries and we'd push the truck to start. Then we'd have a good one for later and later came often.
If you look closely, you'll see the '34 has a caddy flathead hence the hood trim. The instrument panel was caddy also. No picture though.
Iv seen that 34 a few times. In my mind, its one of the coolest cars on the planet. Who knows more about it?
Ugh. Why'd you have to do that? Makes that beautiful coupe look...well...more beautiful standing next to someone so...well...beautiful?
Builders name is Gary. I got to meet him and drive out and back from B-ville with him and his dad, great people. And a real neat car. Kinmont discs all around, a Columbia two speed rear, and that flathead Caddy with some rare speed equipment. Gary drives that thing like a "hot rod".
Nimrod, Think I saw those cars on 50 friday morning on my way back from Austin. They were moving right along. Looked great running together.
I got flashed but not pulled over doing 85. Heard one of the cars from Austin got a ticket outside Ely on the way to Wendover. Pretty nice hiway, smooth. Great trip.
Welcome back to reality Paul...you must have had a ball out there. Make sure you bring your scrapbook down to Ted's the next Staurday you come. PS: Get back to work on the roadster, you've still got a couple of good months of weather and a bunch of great east coast runs coming up.
Great picture's Paul, looked like a lot of fun out there. Now get your roadster back together,if you don't atleast ride with woody.
Is it possible to take a Bonneville shot that isn't completely bitchin? I need to build a go-fast car....
