Haha. Thanks man. It was just starting to grow on me though. I had a great time. Alex's car is phenominal - but more on that later.

I tried to get Tman to drive sag just in case something went south with my wounded motor on the way back. Figured since he trailered his we could swap places rest of the way to KC if needed. The poor ******* snuck out early. I guess he was afraid his car wouldn't make it across more than one Zip Code at a time?

cool pix - for sure it was a blast -- too sad I couldn't saw that in person
---12.5 sec is great --- would like to see more cars with their et's

  4. Totally *****EN!!!

I got the lows because I wasn't there with you guys... but the highs come from seeing all these great pics!

Glad to hear The Dragin Fly made it into the 12's... looks like, from the pics, he did a little injection plumbing work...

We'll be there next year... watching or racing... but we'll be there...

    Sam.

  5. ****, sorry man! I thought you were ahead of us? Dave got revenge on me scaring the **** outta him at 7am, he let me sleep for an hour before rousting my ***!. We almost lost one of these 40 coupe doors off the trailor on the way home!

  6. T-man... how did the Tub run at the drags?

    Sam.

That's cool. Casey and I are all grown up. We stuck a note on Brad's car then left around 11:00. Rolled into KC around 2:30. We crused at 75mph with occational bursts of 85 or 90 stopping for fuel and trash to cram into the firewall holes along the way. Gear oil is POURING from the bellhousing too. Motor is coming out I think.

Edit: And if I can find my time slip I can tell you what he ran against me.

  8. Best run was a 14.91...............had the same traction issues Ryan did with his Hursts. I was spinning out to the 60 foot. Car runs hard and arrow straight. I get better lights and tweak it a little, I know there is a good second in there!

  9. How did the "windscreens" work?

Fred and Alex spent all day chasing gremlins with my dad and I.

Both of these guys are top notch individuals.
    Glad they were there.

  14. If you got to get some of Mamma Root's cooking, then I'm jealous. She can really cook. If I were Root, I'd be about 350 pounds by now.

  17. Fred, it was nice meeting you too. I considered coming out to the track early to learn from you, alex and the roothawg clan. I figured I'd better stay out of the way.

    See ya next year.

I am still on the HAMB drags high . what a blast ! I'm still a little tired, flew in friday eve. to wichita from a week at monster garage , stayed the night at home in ark city loaded up lucas and headed to hamb drags sat. morning , raced the sedan , it ran 13.14 was the best time ,shifting the 4 speed. had a great time and will be back next year trying to run some 12's. thanks to all those that helped put it on , what a great time I had . Lucas is wanting to know how old he has to be before he can drive the hot rod and do a burn out. and our buddy JD IS GOING TO PULL THE FIAT out of the moth balls for next year yea haw !!!!

You guys did a great job and put on a great show. I had a blast as a spectator and only wish I had something to run. (my bucket will definately crank, but I don't have the balls to take it to the strip)

I hope you all made it home in fine shape and didn't break anything expensive. I hope to see you all next year!!

Glad to hear Metalshapes (Alex) did so good. I owe him a big thanks too for taking time away from prepping his car for the HAMB drags to help me with my problems and getting me on down the road.

  23. The Hamb Drags were perfect this year lots more cars and also more serious race cars than just drivers too!
Its the very best event for us hot rodders there is...Put on by the best people there are!:)
What we have here is an event that can be experienced on a personal level unlike all the BIG GUY events that are all about profits and promotion....its about preserving the history of hot rodding and promoting the particpation of new blood enthusiasts-PUT ON BY THE BEST FOKS KNOWN TO MAN,:D
its done by [and for] us HAMBER'S

Third time to the drags. First time with a car and brought my boys along. Although the oil drenched clutch kept our *** off of the track, my boys got thier first real exposure to what the sport is really about. Now they will have the sickness just like thier old man. Thanks to all of ya that put on a hell of a show.
