I just picked up an offenhauser 2 x 2 for my 8BA flathead. This is not the super dual but the regular dual that is supposed to let you run the generator in the stock location. I got everything bolted up today and there is about 1/4 inch of interference between the carb and generator. Am I doing something wrong here? Can you only run a certain type of Carb and still leave the generator in the stock location?

I've dug through the search function and I can't find anybody else that has had this problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Which carbs are you running? I believe Strombergs with the fuel inlet to the side are supposed to offer more clearance than Holley 94s.

Is the generator correct? It should have a hole in the case that locates on a small pin in the bracket.

Good idea there. Most of them have TWO holes for location actually, because same gen mounts to different brackets for six and v8 applications. I do not remmeber how far apart said holes are. Remove gen from bracket and look for a small locater pin on the bracket, holes in gen case.

I seem to recall that Lincoln & Mercury generators were a higher output, but were a little longer length than a Ford.

  7. Strombergs will fit, 94s need to sit on phenolic spacers to clear.
