hey folks, i am looking for a set of these for my '36, i just got a 1957 312 out of a '57 cop car, so i want a set of those manifolds cheap, the key word here is cheap.......also, i need to become an expert on these motors, so info, websites would really help...thanks......chip
Have you checked out these ? http://www.y-blocksforever.com/ http://members.aol.com/yblock/YBLOCK.htm The latter has a swapmeet section.
I don't think you will find a set of those very cheap, it seems like they are usually going for $200 and up on ebay. You should add ebay to your list of places to check. They were only used on trucks because the steering box (I think) was in the way on all of the cars that came Y block equipped.
Chip; Two guys in your neighborhood are good resources. Cheep they are not and you already know how hard the manifolds are to find. However I think Stan has a pair and knows Y-blocks all the way around. 360-687-1216 The other guy is Kieth at New start. Lots of Y-block knowledge there. 360-574-9411. Not sure what kind of info you need but being a basic Ford guy and having blown up several Y-blocks maybe I can help you some. I currently own 3 57 Fords. The Wizzard
If you're sneaky, you can do the 6 mile uphill hike into the ghost town of Panamint on the edge of Death Valley. There's a large F series, maybe F300 or better with a 292 and a pair of nice rams horns. Just don't let the Nat'l Park coppers find out and pack light as the weight of them coming back down may cause back problems. Chris
Maybe another option would be to use..EDB 9430-A & EDB 9431-B manifolds. Not center dump, but semetrical rear dump if you have clearance. They are pretty good looking manifolds and probablly a lot cheaper. Good luck...
I am pretty stupid when it comes to this puter stuff, but lets see if I can post a pic........ http://photo.starblvd.net/k_member/4-1-1-1073746955?m=0&pg=3&ro=0&co=0
See no pic, but I think the link might work. There are more pics of the manifolds on same page if it works....??? I don't know...This lil box is confusing...
Iv'e seen some on Edsels , but don't know if they interchange?. some one needs do do research on this?..or does some one know for sure?
These bought $250 a few weeks ago. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&mfcisapicommand=ViewItem&item=2443790671

Chris [/ QUOTE ] I really can't condone stripping abandoned vehicles on Federal property and besides, if the truck is too big it's a Lincoln Y-block and the manifolds are different, I think.
I can't either, I only suggested it since it's pretty far fetched. Then again, feds like to "take" property all the time and the hippies would be glad to see the human traces gone. I'm certain it was a 292. Truck had tandem axles, late 50's. Chris
We used to get them off of tilt cab F600s many years ago. Ive never seen them on smaller trucks but that doesnt mean they dont exist
i have the other kind of hp y block dual exuast manifolds you can have for free also have a factory solid lumpty cam with the adjustable rockers make an offer on those and i think i have 2x4 intake too. actuly i have the whole motor if anybody needs anything from this i have no plans for it it is still in the car
You would not say that if you saw the ****ty welding on them. *Still valid even if it is an old thread
