You're right...that is the right car! One of my favorites also. Good luck with it and drive the heck out ot it. Dual exhaust would be cool!

That is one fine looking car you have there.
My Dad had a blue fastback 50 when he was young and he wants another one now. If anyone has any idea where one might be could you please let me know. Thanks.

Very good looking Olds, Randy. You gonna take the skirts off?

  8. Awesome car Randy! I too have been keeping an eye out for one. Learned to drive on a 49 back in the day. Nicest one I have seen lately was the one Tony's Dad has at Ross Racing in Ohio. Show room condition with some modest Ross Racing upgrades!

  9. Wow!!!! Congrats Randy, That thing is pretty. It will sound cool with Smithy's, That's for sure.

That is one very clean car. Dual exhaust maybe but otherwise leave it alone and enjoy it.

my first car would have been a 50 Olds coupe but the guy sold it before I had enough money. it had a louvered hood and a red and white tuck-n-roll interior. it was one of the cars in the neighorhood we used to ride our bikes over to look at when we were kids.

looks like a very nice car you have there.

Just found out the Olds is being shipped by the same company that Jay Leno uses. I am told they wrap the interior with clear plastic and take great care of vehicle. It will be enclosed of course.

Holy von smolly! That is about the sweetest. I like your plan, but I would think twice about adding a dual carb headache and eliminating that beautiful carb and air bath set. Congrats on a dandy purchase. ~sololobo~

Just got off the phone with the guy who built the engine and tranny, it has been completely gone through from top to bottom, ignition is all brand new also. Miles are verified to be correct at 42k. He is coming out here to So Cal in Feb next year and we are meeting up. Also he has a major stash of original Olds parts and said if I ever need anything he would sell to me. I am so stoked, this purchase just keeps getting better and better!!

Forgot to mention it was Bill Ersham that did the work. Number 1 Olds guy in the country and old drag racer
