Seem like you'll find more of the 46 and 47 models.

I have only found a few for sale.

Parts seem pretty hard to find but there out there.

Those truck look sick done up.

Hudson made pickups from the late 30's through 47. In 48, they moved their line over to the "stepdown" body style, and while a few prototype p'ups were made in 48 - 49, they never were in production as far as I know....

I see em on ebay every now and then, at least one a month. One in decent restorable condition (no major body work needed) will usually go for about 2k from what I've seen...

That loooong hood can hide just about anything you want under it. The 1/2 ton was a flat 6 and the 3/4 ton used a straight flat 8.

I've always liked those. Gobs of style, almost a factory custom with the long and low look and ***y curves of the fenders.

    I never expected this thread.
I am just finishing up my '46( about 2 more weeks). I shortened the bed 12". 6 in front of the wheel well and 6 behind. Factory, the bed is 7"-11" long so the foot made it way more acceptable. I also obviously had to take 6 out of the frame rails for the front 6" gap. That also made an improvement on the crazy wheel base of that truck. I have a bunch of pics that I will post in the morning, gotta hit the sack. Hud

Here are a few more Hudson truck pics, '46 & 47's. I'll do a thread on my build in the next few weeks when it is finished. Joe

Just bought this one, which you can see in thread above (small picture).

It is being transported out of Ohio. Here's a newer picture of it, provided by the guy I bought it from - little has changed -

Under the hood - Yes, 'forward' tilt hoods were standard on these Hudsons!

FYI - Hudson never put any '8' into any of their pickups - Neither 'straight' or V8... Purely flathead sixes. These pickups also have IFS! Took GM/Ford 20+ years to put it into their pickups.
This is my second '46 - I also have one in the workshop - awaiting a frame-off/custom build, Am thinking a late-model v8 (5.3L or a 'Hemi')... Also have a '39 in pretty 'rough' condition.
