I'm going to be in Hartford / Milford Ct from Nov 30th to Dec 10th. Would like to find some hotrod shops or interesting hot rod stuff going on in this area. I have a rent a car and can go 100 to 150 miles out each day. Let me know what's out there.

  2. Not really hot rods, but as a car guy I would take the time to stop into Cobra Automotive in Wallingford, CT. An amazing shop that does restorations, mechanical as well as race set ups for real Shelby Cobras as well as Shelby Mustangs and GT40's. Great people there, I would think they would give you a tour around and share what they do.

Juliano's now has an indoor parts flea market type thing. I don't know the days of the week or time but they must have a website.
    Enjoy CT

Saddly, Bob Juliano passed away yesterday. I doubt this would be the best time to visit his shop.
    Rest in Peace Bobby.

check out Kovacs Rod Shop in Bridgeport. they do standard repairs in one building, and then they have a smaller garage filled with tons of vintage parts and some pretty cool cars. i would call ahead first. (203)368-1594. ask for Teddy. i think he is also on the hamb. have a great trip!

Total Performance is gone and the shop where they were is now Cobra Automotive as mentioned in post #2 and it is definitely worth a visit with all the stuff hot rod 47 listed.

  13. Yes, Total Performance is gone, but Jim Wilkos kept the Cool-Flex side going, (Coolflex.com) and now he has his own hot rod shop located at 65 North Colony St. Wallingford, CT 06492 203-265-3617. His website page has my coupe and my husband's roadster on it along with a few other cool cars.. I actually work at Cobra Automotive located at 37 Warehouse Point Rd. in Wallingford. If you like flathead stuff my husband Ron has a "man cave" that you will like. Just a few suggestions...

Not Hot Rod related but you will be a hour away from the biggest casino in the USA and one of the largest in the world. Foxwood Resort Casino located on the Pequot Indian Reservation ....

Thanks chopt55BC ill check that out
five-window-girl I'd like to check Cool-flex and the man cave. Your less than 30 miles from where I'm staying. I would not mind cruising up there Monday and checking things out.
Thanks Jarhead for your suggestion not much into gambling if it's not a HotRod.
I'm here now in Ct till Friday then I'm cruising up to New Hampshire for Saturday and Sunday.

Not HAMB, but Wayne Carini has F40 Motorsports in Portland CT. Never know what he will have, from Ferrari to a VW or 30's classics. Not far from your location. Lot's of good seafood along the shoreline

Woodhaug I went to F40. Matt Firestone took me. Wayne took us along on one of his TV show shoots. It was really fun but they could not shoot because it was raining. Can't believe all the cool cars at his shop. There was a 427 AC Cobra there that was all dusty and dirty that he just dug out of a garage. Very cool.
