Im hunting twin blues, so I bought the whole deal for the water gauge. Someone covered the aluminum panel in fake wood grain. Here's the back-anyone know who made the panel? Is this a Stewart Warner piece? Cleaned up not too bad. After this pic I polished the bezels a little. I think these gauges will clean up well. Need some work but I've seen worse. Anyway thanks for any input
Ok so from what I can tell Eelco and Ansen stamped their logos/names into the back. Not sure on Hildebrandt.
I have a few with no names and 1 has fake woodgrain. I've seen ones new in the box and it came with either a black or woodgrain decal.
Looks like some one has parted out a boat, at one time or another. Could have also come out of a 60"s/70"s car, after market stuff. ..............Jack
Love those green line gauges.... I had one like that without the wood grain on it....and was a four gauge...(See Pic) Don't remember if it had a brand on it or not, but I sure would like to find another... Cheers...
I picked up a gage pod with the wood grain at the HAMB drags. Chrome underneath was perfect. Did you find all the Gage's you need yet? Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
For me, if I were running those size gauges that would be a very desirable panel. I like the aluminum ones with the flange to hide the back side. My first panel were just stainless steel with no flange and only 2 holes to replace the idiot lights. Three holes means you needed an extra gauge. Only real hotrodders had 3 gauge panels. My uncle had the 2 hole variety for the idiot lights but he was no hotrodder. I don't think you need a name brand. Very cool IMHO.
A lot of boat builders used the blue ones.....Always did like them. Is that a Stewart Warner logo on the bottom center ? Nice find,...and that aluminum panel ! 4TTRUK
