39/40 Ford Headlight interchange

I am new here and would like to know if '40 Ford Headlights will bolt right in to a '39 fender? Thanks in advance.

Updating the 39's is a neater way to go.

 

Isn't 39's bulbs and 40 sealed beam?

 

Yes 40s are sealed beam 39s are not, I am looking to replace the entire housing,trim ring all related parts

 

I think a 39 should be left just the way it is. Has a much smoother look than a 40.

 

They will fit with little work in a 39 deluxe fender ,a 39 standard fender will take major modifications
