Got a chance to meet Baumi and several of his friends last weekend at an informal get together. A really hospitable, friendly, and fun bunch of people.

It was amazing to see such a collection of cool cars and cool people in the heart of Bavaria. They really have a love of this hobby and as you can tell by the photos, they don't let a little rain stop them!

Karl is the owner of the hangout. A great place, full of memorabilia, great music, and good beer. The cookout was terrific!

It was a real pleasure and I hope I get to see them all again soon.

    Vielen Danke, Baumi!

Hey Jack! Are you already back in the States?
I´m glad you enjoyed the weekend with us! IWe´ve had a great time and I hope to meet you and Erin again soon!
She´s the best Bavarian speaking American girl I know!!!Unbelievable!!!

For me it was great to listen to your stories( you know, the 56 Chevy wheelstander, hahaha) but unfortunately I lost my ability to speak after a couple of beers. Not only my English got worse but also my German...

Please call me or drop me a line whenever you happen to be around!

    Thanks a lot for everything!
    My best wishes to Erin!

    Take care
    Baumi

I know I am a newbie and don't know you all. Just wanted to say that it would be awsome to see some SWEET rides like that in Germany (much less anwhere). I spent half a year in Germany and never saw an awsome ride like that (well maybe a 70s Corvette, but that was owned by a service person I knew).

It is cool to know that we have Hot Rodding friends all over the world. :) Ich kann auch Deutsch sprechen. ;)

The cars and the guys are out there, certainly not as much as in the US , but they ´re still around.
I´m going to the Hot Heads East traditional 1/8 mile race this next weekend. I´m sure there´ll be quite a lot of cars , just like the last years.
But of course you´re right, hot rods are not an everyday sight around here.
