Hey guys, I need a low pressure pump to run with 2 8BA carbs on my flathead in my 50 F1, I have this old Carter pump, but dont know how much pressure its goanna put out.
Naturaly I cant find any numbers on it.
I was hoping someone might reconise it and know the specks for it.
Also I bought this speedway made in koriea Holli pressure regulator to get the final pressure down to 3 psi, do you think it will turn a high pressure pump down that far ?
Iv got the same regulator on my roadster but the pump only puts out 9 psi.
    Thanks

The pump in pic #1 should be about 7 psi max, I think Carter shows them at 4 - 6 psi... The pump in pic 2 is one I use for a transfer pump, Its application was a 6.5 GM diesel primary fuel pump. Again it is a low pressure pump, never measured it but I have no problem stopping the flow with my thumb....:D:D:D

The first pic looks like a Carter P-4070, great pump, and the 3lb regulator should work fine.

    Thanks guys very much.
So should I mount the pump as close to the tank as possible ?

Mark, Make sure you install a filter between the tank and the pump, and mount the pump as reasonably close to the filter. I use the steel canister, inline type. When they are close to the frame, I cut 2 bands off of some radiator hose, and slide them on for anti-rattle.

Be careful...Back in the day I had an electric fuel pump on a drag car. Fuel line came loose in my driveway as I was adjusting the valves. This was a high volume Carter pump, and it puked about a quart of gas all over the engine compartment before I realized what was going on. Caught fire, and I ended up ruining a gl*** hood, bumper, wiring, and my pocket book !

You couldnt give me an electric pump, unless it was an OEM type for modern fuel injection.
