Hi, I am building a 40 Ford pickup in Central PA. I have a 40 Fat Man frame and a 46 cab. ZZ4 crate motor, 400 transmission, gl*** fenders, and a new shop build 1952 bed. I'm using 40 Chevy rear fenders to mate to the flat sides of the bed. I will have to make a custom set of running boards to tie everything together. I put in a *****in firewall, floor kit, and replaced the rear cab corners so the cab is solid. There are a few dents in the rear of the roof. but I will worry about them later. There maybe a 2" top chop coming soon. I moved the tank out of the cab so I will need to get a tank for between the frame rails. I might use a "Tanks" plastic tank although I understand they do not fit in the stock mounting holes correctly. Next I need to figure the wood cab and bed mounting blocks out. The forty blocks do not fit the 46 cab without cutting them up to fit the 46 floor pan and the like new set of 46 blocks I have are made for a flat frame and are not the right height frame to floor. Don't want to buy a new $200.00, 1940 set and then cut them up to make them fit my application. Since I have a complete wood shop I will try to come up with the distance from the frame to the cab mounting points on a 40 and make up a set of custom blocks on my own. Still lots to do. Gaius
Hello and welcome from So.ILL. Sounds like an interesting project, good luck with the build etc. I'm currently getting started on my dads 41 Ford pickup.
