This was brought into the shop earlier this year. It was in for bags and interior updating. The owner bought it online from someone back east never saw it in person until it was delivered. As things were removed the magic started showing up. The car is at paint now so here's the progress so far. It was a 4dr at one point in its life.

I missed day 1 of tear down.

The owner wanted to do away with the trim. This was found when sanding began
    [IMG]

Once the console was out we noticed why the owner said it was really hot when he drove it. There was some large segments of the ****** tunnel missing. There was also a slice down the driveshaft tunnel for clearance. Didn't bother welding it together.

So from interior and bags to a full redo. The owner chose the new color to be white. I'll post up the progress. Enjoy

    Rear suspension Bodymounts and floor

Frame notch and plating. The frame is plated from the front subframe all the way back. There was alot of foam and other things holding the rotted mounts and metal together so the flooring and mounts were removed.

New tube crossmember with rear bodymounts. The existing wasnt attached to anything.

New rear end. Link bars going in. Crossmembers in. Tank mounts and fuel cell mounts in
    [IMG]

    Replacing a bodymount shown earlier.

    Mocking up the watts link

Hows the old saying go: "Trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ear !!! "
The car is the right color.
You definitely got your work cut out for you on this one, but it appears your heading in the right direction. What are the plans for the roof ?

  10. It always amazes me how much money some people have to spend to do something like this to a car. I hope for the new owners sake they got it cheap because to undo all that bad taste and fix all that rust is going to cost a fortune.
Your shop is doing a great job and look forward to more photo's and the finished car.
I wish I could afford to have that much work done to my shoebox !

Brad owns the shop and does the fab. I take the pics, help sort out any of the wtf's on the projects, and build my studebaker.

The owner of the car wanted a nice family cruiser. Originally it was redo the interior since it was interesting with alot of marine vinyl and dated. That epic console hid alot of bad things. Once the interior was removed and the ground was visible it turned into what you see.

Job one was make it safe for his family and have a decent cruiser to take to shows. It will end up with a clean interior, nice looking engine compartment and safe.

Not sure on the Mooneyes Ryan. Moving shops this weekend for 3x the space and onsite tow gear. Plus gets the studebaker its own area for me to take it down to the frame and go through it all.

Thanks for the comments. I'll keep the updates coming as moves towards completion.

Not sure about the roof yet. Once the owner sees it all fixed and back together we will see if his idea changes on leaving it the same.

The Pink goes away to some form of White. Rear wheelwells will be stock ford.

Brad appreciates the comments. The top is going to be recovered in a tan color with a superior looking product. So we shall see if that helps with the appearance.

Here's a shot of the custom fuel cell. It will be mounted underneath the new trunk floor.

One of two airtanks. There is one on each side of the trunk.

UGGH! don't do a tan top, it would look so much better with a black top and interior to contrast the white body. Great job on the repairs though

waiting on you!!!!! I like the changes that have been done. Now it seems to be on the right track. Is the interior going to have a bench seat, or keeping the buckets???

The shoebox has returned. It's back from paint and re***embly is underway. Heres some shots of it. I'll get more when I get over there tomorrow.
The new factory type wheel opens came out nice. The door is open so that is why the colors look off.

Here's a shot of the p***enger side cowl area.

    Attempt #3

The trunk and floors are getting ac***at to keep the sound down since it will be a family cruiser.
