Been lurking around here for a while. Like to read all of the build threads. Picked up a 1951 Chevy 3600 a few months ago. Plan on keeping it a useable truck. Currently has a 216 and a 4 speed. Looks like someone started to repaint it a while back. Has primer over what I believe is the original blue.

Picture of the day I brought it home:

  4. Welcome from S.W. Wisc. I ran the VW dealership in Racine for 16 years ( 1975 - 1991 )before moving out here. My oldest son lives in Racine very near the lake.
Looks like a pretty nice truck, good luck with it.

Welcome from Union Grove neighbor! If you need any parts, PM me. I've got a lot of stuff left over from my "51 3100 build.

Thanks everyone. I bought the truck in barely running condition. Had shot wheel cylinders, bent intake valve pushrod, running off a gas can, etc. Replaced/fixed all of that stuff and got it back on the road.

I made a list of all of the parts I will need. Plan on driving it thru this time next year while I gather everything. Then next winter strip it down and build it up. For the drivetrain I will be keeping my eyes open for a 2500/3500 2wd to cannibalize. Plan on keeping it a 3/4 ton.
