    Heres some pics....
I've been laying low so I figured I would check in-

I got a bunch of free steel from a friend. PILES of tubeing. So much I was wondering what the hell I was going to do with it all. But with the price of steel I welcomed all I could get.

I started looking at rotissarys, I was going to buy one- but then it dawned on me. Build it...

It broke in the chop saw... and built them totally adjustible with a bar that goes between them that will span a good 18 feet...

THEN... I needed a way to get car bodys off by myself instead of asking six friends to come over cuzz that never seems to work.

I built this double A Frame HOIST
heavy as hell- SO heavy I almost knocked out my buddy in a episode I care not to repeat... its mobil too-

To lift the bodys I use a big square tube 6' by 6' SQAURE that hooks to the hoist. It hooks to the car with big trucker tie straps on all four corners of the square to pick up the car body useing the chain hoist. IT RULES

Made the trolly on top too...

I bought a Chicago Brake for example... so heavy I couldnt get it off the trailer... its STILL on the trailer... Guess its not a problem anymore.

When I was mocking up the pedals in my roadster I had the body off and on six times or better, KICKED MY ASS... now... things will be smoother.

I have the galaxie sold to a hamber- and I havent worked on the roadster at all other than pick up a few choice parts for it. I got a remote thermostat housing made by weiand thats polished that matches the weiand intake to a T.... I got some cool red plug wires with white porclin ends and a remote oil filter relocator "vintage 60's"

    thats all for now-

Damn that roto thing is huge..... you need a bigger shop.

I know freddie the galaxie is a sacrafical lamb...
    its ok I think
I feel like im selling one of my own kids-

I'm really excited about building this stuff, and getting the shop setup. Hopefull the walls will be framed on that end this month, they have to be.... winters coming.

    - that roto cost me 200 out of pocket for the casters, some female steel and the hardware. Most of that steel is 3/16th" thick nice stuff.

That beam that runs across the top is 1/4 plate or thicker and I cut the squares through the tubes and welded on both ends- that pipe is 1/4" thick as well- I cut 3 feet off the bottom of each of those pipes- I was going to put it outside but why the hell would I want to mess with that in the winter OUTSIDE? I was temporarliy INSANE. its inside now!

I got my tig welder up and running
thanks to an idea from JUNKYARDDOG when I was there this summer... I needed a water cooler and I made my own.

First I hooked up a water pump but it leaked... it circulated from a bucket- it would take forever for me to heat the bucket up.

    NEXT... wallmart.
17 bucks and a bilge pump for a boat... some hose... the bucket and a motorcycle battery charger hard wired and pluged into the welder so when I turn on the welder it pumps... and it WORKS.

    ok thats all I guess...

I wish I had all of that shit, but unfortunately I built my garage too small to begin with. Those 10 foot sidewalls wouldn't allow me to lift anything too high.

I DO have insulation and a ceiling though!;)
    NICE!

thats a huge bitch! Great to have if you got the space for it though. I'm always working by myself too, trying to figure out how I'm gonna flip a frame to weld, or get a body on the frame by myself, it sucks! Good score on the free tubing too, that stuff gets expen$ive

Great shop progress!!! I guess that not going to the Drags can somehow be justified.

I hope I am not being to forward by saying you ROCK! Not in the bad way but like a farmer checking out a sheep stuck in the fence.

I thought you said something about a sarificial lamb. Maybe I didn't read the term in context! :D

I got an envelope going out on friday for ya.

That's really cool. I wish I had space for a body hoist. Looks like I still have to take the "call some buddies over" route.:p
