Lokar shifter on sp400 transmission

I have a Buick sp-400 transmission and I was wondering if anyone one has ever taken a lokar th-400 shifter and put it on a sp-400. As far as i know it should work, but i'm not 100% sure. Has anyone run into this before?

I have a SP 400 ... and they are like the regular 400's except for the converter and the valves inside. Externally the same

 

ok cool. I thought that was the case but I just wanted some verification before i throw down that much money on a shifter.
