Ive been cleaning out the cabinets in my shop and happened on this weird holesaw. They are 6 1/4 accross and 1 1/4 deep.Never saw a curved one and would like to see a holder for it if anyone has one or knows how to use it. Another mystery to solve. Thanks

That can't be a hole saw, unless the material is very thin because there is no room for the cut "plug".

Could it be a specialized saw blade?

that is NOT a hole saw, per se. Certainly appears to be a saw blade, but I cannot imagine the machine that it fits. I'd guess it's for cutting a specific arc, so it may be a dedicated blade for a particular chore/step

Looks to me like an antique bowling ball saw. Back in the early 1900's bowling balls we're cut from a solid cube of oak and then sander smooth and then varnished before the finger holes were drilled.

    Or maybe not.

I think that thing would make one gigantic bowling ball. But getting a strike would be MUCH easier.:D

i think it's for flush t******* something thats easy to cut (non ridgid) and the "cup shape" is just so the arbor mount can clear whatevers being cut.

These blades came in a box that was part of a clean out I did in an elderly ladies ba*****t.I ended up having to take everything to get a good deal. Most stuff was packed away and forgoten about till now.I use so many tools fromthat buy all the time .BUT... I dont want to be guy that croaks and leaves his wife with tons of **** to sort through.I enjoyed the replies, always something to learn. Would be great to use it to cut the holes in the inner skin for my decklid if I could figure out a holder of sorts. Thanks

Great thread! I always wondered if Ryan would Ok a "What Is It?" thread to help ID non automotive things like this. With 600,000+ HAMB members with a wide field of knowledge it would be an interesting and helpful thread. Once you know what an odd item is it is a lot easier to sell and turn into project funds. Looks like you could cut tree roots out of a drain pipe with that

  25. I thought it was a reasonable request.... Might well have been some rare special tool for all you knew - may be for clutch facing, facing off tyres or brake lining t*******. You've got to wonder about people who send a PM protest about something like this

Same here, most people didn't know what the tool was for before a HAMBer ID'd it. Maybe it is a door panel speaker hole cut out tool? Bob ..... Merry Christmas!:)

It looks simulare to a strickler blade, but is not SS. A strickler is used in packing plants to clean the corn and other stuff out of cows small intestine and open up the intestine to lay flat. then sent to sausage and hotdog makers. I used to have to change those blades about 5:00 am before production started. Rod
