I'm a total noob when it comes to automatic transmissions...and I'm putting one in the '61 metropolitan I'm building for my wife.

Is there a way to perform an operational checkout on a used torque converter to ensure that it's good to go before installing it?

    Thanks in advance!

From what I now u can press test it to make sure it doesn't leak and also u should put the input shaft from the Trans in the converter and trun to make sure the teath are good in the converter. But if u have the Trans out u should just send the converter out if you don't now the history of it.
