Hey Gang, Anyone out there from Austin or the surrounding areas? Thinking about relocating and was wondering where the good areas to look for a house, and whats the scene ( i hate that word) like cars/music? PM or luckydevil49@aol.com Thanks
Just moved here from Gulf Coast/South Texas area and lovin' it here. Dunno where to look for a house cause they don't pay me enough to buy one. "Live Music Capital of the World" - speaks for itself, theres ALWAYS a good show going on somewhere... Car scene seems to be growing...and you can't beat the Lonestar Rod & Kustom Roundup. My $.02 Goodluck
A buddy just bought 3 acres and a big mobile home in Leander for 85k. That's a lot of land for your garage
Its hot and humid as fuck here. I still cant get used to it. I miss SoCal weather...the car scene and bike scene..and surfing... I better not get started.
Thanks a lot, you're making me homesick for CA. .. Coming from NYC? I hear its just as expensive as CA. If you can stand the heat, cost of living is less here. I just moved out here a year ago. I was doing fine until evilfordcoupe's comments...
Texas Hardcore pretty much summed up what I woulda posted. I think they pass out hackey sacs and blonde college girls at the airport here too, enough to go around.
thinking of going out that way myself. cal is starting to suck getting to strick here. gas, gun laws, epa fuck this place . my 2cents billy p.s i have lots of friends in austin should fit in just fine . and i own my house and it has lots of equity.
At first it was the idea of the OWNING my house instead of the bank and having a 2 car garage and some room to keep my vehicles but now Blonde college girls huh? hmmmmm
I had the same discussion with my wife last night.... Anyways, if you want to be in the heart of things, look to buy in Austin. If you have kids and want good schools, check out Round Rock and Cedar Park. You can also check out Pflugerville, I just dont like Pflugerville, gives me a weird vibe.
leaving queens? i hear ya though, it's getting rediculously expensive to live in the city now. austin sounds like a nice place. how about jersey? it ain't that bad here, moved here from brooklyn and im actually glad i did.
