1936 Chevy Master Re-Build

    I originally built the car back in late 90's when I was but a teenager and am doing a complete frame off re-rod. I have torn it down to bare bones over the last few months. Everything including front (previously a corvair) and rear (old leaf setup) is getting updated. Body is ready to come off again and I will be starting with the the front end. Just ordered a MII crossmember from Welder Series. I plan on keeping a running post of my progress for anyone that is interested.

    Here's a pic from the day I pulled the motor... Lots of work done since then and a ton more to do...

    Good looking 36. The 36 Chevy is the bastard child of the Chevy's so you dont see many being done as a rod. Although this is changing as old cars are becoming harder to find. I like the fact you dont see 10ea 36 Chev's at a car show.
    I am attracted to the ODD rod's for some reason. Here is a picture of my 36 Chev 4dr Standard sport.

    Looks good! I like where you put the front signals. And yes, the 36 is sort of the forgotten child. And I have heard that they used a few different frames in 36 on the same models so its tough to figure out what you have. I can tell you that there is MUCH more support for the 36 now than 15 years ago. Everything skipped 36... I like that its unique.

    Made some progress today. Some updated pictures as it sits now... Got the BOP rear end and old E-150 leafs out. Mock up wheels and tires. Planning on running 17's front and rear. Frame is sitting pretty close to final ride height. Might come down an inch or 2 in the rear and might need to go up in the front, but dont want to...

    had a 36, they're different but can be a pretty nice car,good luck ,like to see your progress

    Yes you are right they used two different frames in 36. Its my understanding that yours being a master used a C channel type frame. Mine being a standard used a hat channel frame . you have to be carefull with the hat channels as the bottom of the frame does not have very thick metal to weld too. My four link was cracking the thinner metal. Fixed it with quarter inch plate.
