I sold it to Lucky1974 in Minnesota- rumor has it its getting close to pimpville and getting a 4 speed...

spent the cash on finishing the shop- see the pile of lumber behind the camino?

1960 was 2nd year of first generation El Co's. Based on the Impala frame/running gear. Only 14,163 made.(2nd lowest production year for all El Camino's). Toyota made more cars than that in one day. Production stopped in 60 and restarted in 64.

thanks, my buddy bought that ElCo at night and 2 hrs from home. when he finally got it home. it winded up being a rust bucket. rust everywhere. so he did a frame off, airbags all around, rechromed everypiece of trim, rebuilt the inline 6 and 3 speed O/D trans, rear end, replaced the floor boards, 1/4's etc. etc. that El CO is amazing. he bought every piece of rubber and weatherstripping too. nothing squeaks or rattles. heavy duty sway bar front and back. corners like a damn sports car.

hes just waiting to get the body work done so he can put all the chrome back on.

  16. my ole beater.......serves me well since '92..............(sadly in the same shape as in '95).

oh, wait i just re-read the post......you wanted cool..............on a side note back then people thought the moons were old plates or pans.

i've had 2 60's and 1 '59 and they rust in a few places. 1 is the back window lower channel (if it gets real bad it will take the shelf with it), 2 is under the bed grate in the well, 3 is behind the stainless on the roof above the doors.

Maybe not real cool looking for now, but it's my daily driver. I am putting Astro Supremes on it this weekend. One of the best looking wheels for 59-60 El Camino's. Cut springs to get the at***ude right.
