Hey Bob, the only condition for building a hot rod was that it had to have a back seat, but you're right sedans can look tough too. It'll be running a 276 8BA flathead, with the earlier style Sharp heads, Ross pistons, **** crank, Isky cam.... backed up by a T5 with the S10 tailhousing, to provide as much clearance as poosible for the bench seat. Out back there's be a '40 Banjo. It's definately gonna be a highboy with the frame pinched and bobbed at the front, and frame horns bobbed out back. Gas tank will either be behind or under the rear seat.

Wheels, i've got a set of '35 wires and '40 steel wheels one set will have white walls and the other black, because I can. Color is a tough one, my original inspiration was this Rolling Bones built sedan

and also really like El Bombero's maroon sedan too. So maybe a cherry black color ?? Interior will have an original feel to it ,seats will look stock except in leather/vinyl and with a bench seat in the front. Thats about it !!

    Thanks Chip - you're a legend !

    Thanks Monty!
I have to say, having seen El Bombero's car in person on several occasions, it's maroon color Rocks! You know how when you think about stuff and create a mental image, certain things like colors pop into your head? Well, from the minute you described your car to me I have seen it in my minds eye in a very similar early fifties VW maroon....

It's been a while since I've had anything much to update....I've had a few part made up for the ch***is and am finally ready to go. Along with the parts below I've found a '40 rear crossmember that we are going to flatten and a model A for the front. I'm using the Ionia x member and boxing plates too. Just trying to locate a RHD '30 pedal ***embly.

Below are some pics of the rear spreader bar that 117harv fabbed up & the 36 rear bones and the 33 front bones that he revived for me.

I don't know that this is the end of the line for this one though. I do know that he had discovered at one point this spring that the top was chopped to deeply to p*** Aussie registration regulations and he was looking for another. I haven't heard from him in a bit, so I'm still holding out hope for this build. I was extremely flattered to be part of the original deal with this!

Sedan has been sold to HAMBer rsc337, out of Costa Mesa - California. Hopefully he can get it on the road in the near future. Chip, I've still got the hood, which will be going on the new project. I also have a 32 pickup which will definitely need some ventilation. In regards to the rego saga...there was a lot of misinformation and in the end there was no minimum chop height.

Sorry to hear that. But good to hear the hood will go to good use, and when you are ready to go with it we'll resume the "louvers across the water" deal! Thanks much for including me in on this deal!

That's got to be some kind of record for miles traveled without turning a tire. At least those miles didn't count against the warrentee:eek::rolleyes::D
