What are your goals for the HAMBdrags next year?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Tman, Aug 31, 2005.

  1. After being able to run my own car for the first time this year, I have some goals.

    1. Spend some time at the local test and tune nights!
    2. Get down into the 1.something 60 foot times
    3. Cut real lights, the cheaters did me in! I am going to try some radials.

My big goal revolves around a real drag car. I have a plan in mind, I will try to hammer it home. Wish me luck.

    How about you?

I'm going to start saving the $600 or so I'll need for gas... :(
I'm bummed that I didn't make it.... Damn HVAC...

For me, it's to just make it there...I know I definitly wouldn't have the Model A ready by then, but I'm sure I could still draw a 348 on my shirt and could still beat Trent in a foot race :D :D :D It was real inspiring to see pics of Trent on the track in his tub and the 348

What he said... and try to meet more of you HAMBers. Going to try to put in a fresh motor/trans, nothing radical, still put 10,000 miles a year on this thing. Gene

  8. First, to not have my ribs spread next summer. It is very expensive, painful and slows you down a lot.

Second, to show up AT the race.

Third, to bring a car TO race.

My goal for next year, is to have a blast getting there. Drink beer, watch you all run fast and break things, drink more beer. And then, hopefully make it home without ME breaking anything.

Wait a minute............that's the same as this year!:D

To have something HAMB worthy to drive...

It will be fast... I will give 8th Grade Genius a run for his money in the 'leadfoot' trophy compe***ion.

(I'm thinking BBC powered, 4 speed backed, early Chevy Coupe)

    Of course I'm obviously dreaming...

my real goal is to get laid.

Goal for next year for me personally:

Have the Byooik there, with a freshened and properly running 401 and ST400 instead of the dying dynaflow, and get into the 16's if I'm lucky. 4700lbs of finned monstrosity takes a bit to get movin.

    Family plans:

Have VonDad's 52 Chebby there, and run it.

Have the hotrod project there, run it too.

  23. To go ...and finally show my ugly mug around an finally meet some of you guys , prolly fly in tho ...

showing up in something other than my truck. Nothing makes you feel less cool than not having a cool car there.

I also wish i met way more people and got to really talk to them.

To be able to show up on Friday night instead of Saturday evening.

To bring and race the Grand Prix in the land yacht cl***.

To maybe be towing a HAMBster, probably 235 powered since I already have an Edelbrock intake with carbs for it. Priced tubing today and a "buck fifty" will build a frame, I have several model A front ends and I know I could scrounge a rear axle somewhere. Need to get the business replacing the wifes income before that can happen though.

Had a great time, Will not miss it in '06.
