I've owned a few '55-"56 Fords over my life! Great cars and good luck with yours.

  2. Yeah they are. Thanks

    Hey man, how's it going

  4. Hey! Its going...The car is still on hold for a bit. I am still trying to get the f100 going so that I can finish the body drop on the 56 and bring it home.

  5. Not being a true "Fordnatic" I have to believe there's a factory ford bellhousing that will slip between the Y-block engine and the FMX tranny. Probably something from the early/mid 60s. I bought a 49 ford pickup with a little 289/FMX that was....well, it was..er, Reliable!
The tranny shifted through all 3 gears with a solid shift...ratios seemed close but I ran a 4.27 ratio rear gear.
Our town had many, many 55-56 ford cars when I was attending high school. I grew to like 'em although the 55-57 chevies [less common] would usually beat them in a 1/4 mile drag.
I really miss my last ford...a 55 parts-car I bought from my buddy. Had a 272/3 speed and a recent black paintjob. Was missing the hood and a few other things.
I put a 56 hood on it and changed it to 12 volt with a 56 generator.
Drove it to the 08 or 09 Hamb drags and parked in the field next to Chris Hay and his red 56 GMC pickup...he loved my car and after the drags he bought it...wish I'd hung onto it. Everything worked but it did need a front crossmember like so many east coast/midwest fords did.

tried uploading the pdf where i got pics of the doored ford but it didnt let me. Probably too heavy.
Its an old issue of Kustoms by TSR. If you want it i can email it to you. I also dida search for The Lowering Block, but it seems nobody remembers this shop :(

  7. I would have bought it too! Haha. I like it a lot.

I want another auto trans that will bolt up to everything with really no mods and is also not air cooled

  8. Yeah for some reason thehamb won't let me load pics either. So I have to use photo bucket and that's also a big hassle

  9. I need some pictures of 55-56 fords with 5.60-15 whites/cokers that are laid out or just really low to the ground...The car that is.

  10. Anyone with pics of 55-56 ford with 12x60 and 14x60 cruiser skirts?

  11. My first car was a '56 Mainline way back in the 60's when I was in high school. I really liked that car a lot. Have fun with it.

  12. That's my story as well!

    Still on the back burner?

  14. Its here and there. I am getting the new floor pans right now and working on my f100 aswell.

  15. I've owned over 200 cars, the Ford 56 business coupe I bought in 1964 to this day is in the top 5 favorite daily drivers. stationary 1/4 windows and no back seat. I had 20 inch speaker mounted where the rear seat back should be with a 10 stack 45 rpm record player under the dash. and a 4 inch thick matress filled the rear floor, great for not watching movies at the drive in theaters lol. had several engine and trans combo's ended up with a 360 horse 327 vette motor and 4 speed with 4:11's
