Welcome to the forum. Nice lookin project. My first car was a 1949 Dodge Coronet coupe. Anything is better than the six and fluid drive ! Good luck on your project.

    Welcome,
New the forum myself. I also have a 49 Coronet. I dropped a 318 in also. Transmission is next. What are you running and does anyone have suggestions for the easiest trans swap?

I have a 51 wayfarer with manual fluid drive. I'm getting the tranny rebuilt and am wondering if they can pull the friction plate to resurface it? Or is there some sort of carbon seal that can get damaged in doing so?

So far as I recall, the clutch disc is an ordinary dry plate clutch on the back of the fluid coupling and could easily be relined or replaced. I don't recall anything about a "carbon seal", but then I'm not sure what I had for brakfast yesterday. :)

Hyd clutch as in hyd t/o bearing or as in hyd slave cylinder? Any pics of your existing ?

Not sure exactly what you are looking for... If you maintain the under floor master setup you have a limited amount of free space unless you get creative. Best bet is to check with some of the guys over at www.p15-d24.com

Have you had any luck with hydraulic clutch master setups or solutions, using the stock pedal assembly? I am heading down this road real soon and any help would help.
    thanks
