You turned that into a pretty nice ride.

It's funny but you see a lot more ragtops over around Puget sound where it allegedly rains all the time then you see over here in the desert area and you still see a lot more ragtops of all kinds around her than I saw when I lived in Texas where the normal response was that it was too damned hot to drive with the top down. I'm not sure that the Pontiac dealership I worked in in the mid 70's sold one ragtop in the three years I worked there. I don't remember working on one.

When i was a kid i fell in love with these cars. Some things don't change. That is a fine looking automobile.

Derbydad brings up an interesting thought. Were 8 lug wheels ever available on a Canadian Pontiac? I do not recall ever seeing them. I do recall seeing my first American Bonneville and could not believe the difference.

That looks so much better with those new wheels and caps. The one car I would really like to have back from my past is a 63 Bonneville convertible. Tripower, 3 speed, Hurst shifter, and chrome reverse wheels. It was bright red and I would come out of a store and people would be standing around looking at it. Loved that car.

You don't see many 63's, it was nice to see yours.

  7. I grew up riding in the back of a gold '65 Grand Prix that shares a lot of the same lines as this beautiful old Indian. I know where a couple of the 3 I've owned are still sitting. Looks like I'm going to be adding to the pile again. I have no self control.
Thank you for sharing a great story and a great improvement over the "as purchased" stance and at***ude!!

You just ordered a 409 V8 & you could get a Pwr. Glide or 4spd with it. Member of my car club has a 65 Custom Sport Parissiene rag top 409 4spd. 340 hp 1 of 6 do***ented that they made. 65 was the last yr. for the 409 in Cdn. Poncho!! Then they went to the BBC

The base engine for Canadian Pontiac's was the 261 straight 6, however they started using the 230-6 in 63.
