IMS is generally higher than Schorr. You need to just go there, forget the website!

You can find great deals at IMS in Irvine. Schorr Metals is great to, guess it depends where you live? Schorr seemed to better priced on Aluminum than anybody else.

IMS is usually higher for whole lengths and whole sheets/plates but they have pretty good "rem" prices. Funny thing about them is I have waited for them to cut down full size peices into "rem" sizes and its cheaper than the full size per pound.

If you go to the Irvine store check out the rusty metal cladding on the exterior of the building and all of the interior signs cause my company (SignSource) made all that stuff.

well i/m/s as you call it is just down the road from me but my daily is asking for a tug by the chp which is why i was on the website as i need to fab up a front bumper i am fairly new to the area and
i was expecting you all to tell me they were expensive as the place looks a bit ,,shiny,, compared to what im used to for supplies but maybe il take a look down there

whats the deal getting pieces cut if i take templates?
damn i need my old plasma cutter!

IMS sheared some aluminum for me and it was resonable. They also blanchard ground and flame cut some plate for my power hammer, again cheaper than I could get them from the manufcterer. IMS is kind of a yuppie rem place what with a/c and all. I have seen cutoffs of chrome moly there pretty reasonable. Go there and check it out.
I don't go to Schorr anymore, they sell chinese box tubing that is not the same radius on the corners. They do not mention that till after the sale.

Not sure about Schorr, but IMS also carries gussets and tabs for fab work.

IMS was one of my stops today for some br***, aluminum and CR!

  18. I use IMS also but mostly stay in the rems section. Prices went up a little a few years ago when they moved to the new building in Irvine.

I go to Schorr regularly and IMS occasionally.

Both are very good for remnants.

yeah i took a gander down there (IMS) some was 99 and some was 79 per 1lb but as im not entirely sure what and how much i need and how heavy per foot box section etc is i need to be sure of what im going to buy as i am moving soon and dont need excess stuff

i asked about cutting and from what i could understand its 8 per cut but then they said its 15 for 3 cuts but does that mean a cut length ways or short ways as i could do with some angle or c channel and it would be better for me cut from a length of box rem

i seem to remember a website having sizes and weights per foot???

Ask them where the customer scale is, they have them. Grab the piece you are thinking about an weigh it
