Think this type of build is much more representative of a true early car than any of the $275 k cars coming out of So Cal etc.(not that there is anything wrong with that) This car doesn't have all the "hot rod" milled and polished off it. Nice job.

made a bit more progress on the car, got the tanks universal tank in and made a longer filler neck on it so its easier to reach, and also got the battery tray fabbed and mounted.

Then yesterday we got on finishing up the brakes, we made new mounting tabs fo the rear brake hose and then ran all the lines and bled them, so the brakes are done, now we just need to make it go forward!

planning on getting the motor ****oned back up the end of next week.

Havent done an update for a little bit, but slowly making progress, got the pistons pulled out of the motor and honed they cylinders, put new rings and oil pump in it and put it all back together, cleaned it up good primed and painted it too, also got the rear tires mounted up and bolted em back on the car, i still need to paint the rims.

i pulled the motor off the engine stand to put the clutch on it but its the wrong clutch, musta got a later one, so im gonna run to little dearborn this after noon and get the correct one, then hopefully plop the motor in later.

also got the generator back from being rebuilt and converted to 12 volts, Walters rebuilders in St paul did it, nice guys to work with and reasonable price too.

Motors in, gotta clean up the heads now and put those on.

That REALLY needed to be said....thank you.

This little roadster is incredibly cool. There is a wide variety of crimes I'd consider committing in order to have the funds to buy something with that much character.

Congratulations on the girl! (I just read this thread - sorry it's a couple of months belated.)

Great looking roadster! I commend you for keeping it's original flavor on the rebuild. I really wish more folks would follow that model when they are blessed with a cool old hot rod.

super awesome jeff. dont get riled from the haters. it puts the thread over the top, we get to see an epic reawakening of a survivor, and we get a chuckle out of thumbing through the profiles and other posts of the ****ers with such valuable opinions:)

A lil more progress, we got the body shimmed and bolted down, also put the column back in and got the ebrake all back in and working, did some putsy things too like cleaning out the channel where the rubber goes on the w/s frame to make way for new stuff, refitted the floor boards to make sure they all still fit, reworked the gas pedal and got that all working (its got a 40 ford gas pedal and pushrod up thru the floor) also pulled the dash instert out and started cleaning that, and got the grancor heads cleaned and bead blasted and almost ready to go on.

Got some more stuff done, got the headers bolted on, also got the tach drive set up all done too, one of the mounting posts that welds to the front crossmember was missing so i made a new one of those and then i had my buddy Barry machine the front pulley bolt for the speedo cable end to go into, and i made a small cable between the pully and the 90 degree drive, hopefully it wont coil itself up, im gonna pull the main tach cable apart and lube it and make sure it turns freely. i also got the battery cables run and starter solinoid mounted, i had to send the heads out to be resurfaced, .012 of warp isnt gonna work for me. should have those back tomorrow or so, then ill get the heads on and and then finish up all the other small fab work etc that needs to be done, i think were gonna start wiring it tomorrow too.

lil more progress today, got the carbs detailed out and rebuilt the center one (were just gonna run the center one for now) old strombergs, take 5 to put together 3 good ones! also got the 3 to 2 bolt adaptor and distributor on and 7 out of 8 wires! i ran out! i also made a coil bracket and ran the fuel lines to the sediment bowls, if i hadnt run out of ign wire i probably would have worked on it more so i could fire it tonight but its been a long day.

we also started working on the rear nerf bar but i forgot to take pics
