I was wondering if there was anyone fairly close that would let me make some templates of there roof line. I have a 40 four door, I want to build into a 3 window coupe. I would like to use a 40 or 41 but I think I would be able to make a 37,38,or 39 work. I know that the earlier zephyrs are different, and have a different wheelbase. I actually like the side view of the earlier zephyrs better, if I had to shorten mine that would be OK too.

The 37-39 share the same roofs as the 40-42's are to themselves. I think if you took the time to do it correctly you could fab a roof for your 40 but finding a proper decklid may be a challenge.

We've got a '37 and a '41 in the shop right now. They differ too much to do a graft, unless you are a metal god. The '41 is a graft, by the way. It is a 4-door platform/nose/windshield area, with a coupe roof/trunk.

I sure could use the garnish moldings if available.

Well I don't know about that. I have never seen them together before. What about the roof line from the a pillars to before where the trunk starts and the door tops. I was thinking that if I pie cut the tops of the quarter panels and laid the trunk forward. Its going to be a custom, I'm not trying to build perfect 3 window coupe just a reasonable facsimile.

Yes you may be right. I think the trunk lid may be hard to find, Its kind of a long term project, so It may take a wile to find.
