What size rivets did you use on the body? Sweet looking car man Wanted: 28-29 Model a Roadster Quarter Panels
I bought several of the floor pan rivet kits from Snyder's. They are 3/16 rivets in various lengths. I found I needed more of the longer ones that what was included in the kit. Dave
Finally got my engine back today. Went and picked it up this morning. Have some fasteners to swap out as he used stainless head bolts and side cover bolts. I had the head done in yellow as it is a 6:1 Winfield yellow head. It's very bright. Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
.080 over, Stipe .330 cam, lightened flywheel and V8 clutch, etc. Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
He still had it on the run stand when I got there, so I did get to hear it run this morning. Can't wait to get the Winfield intake and carb on it and get it in the car. Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
Thanks, Mark. Should move my roadster along pretty well, I hope. Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
You wouldnt have the measurements for where the bolt holes in the sub rails go. I brought snyders sub rails and want to be bang on with where i marked the holes before i drill. Wanted: 28-29 Model a Roadster Quarter Panels
Which bolt hole locations do you need? I can get them for you. Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
The A pillars mount to the subrail using rivets. Do you need rivet hole locations? Check this thread out also. Dave
I used to love 32s but 28-29s now seem much nicer and yours is a good example why that is. Very cool. JW
Neat car, subscribed! I didn't even know there was an "inner trunk panel" until I saw you car, lol. Lots to learn here. Can't wait to see it finished up!
This is a great thread. Nice work, and fantastic detail! Im excited to see it with those laid back stanchions on there!
I'm after the measurements for drilling the two holes that mount the body to the chassis if that makes sense. Snyders rails come undrilled Thanks
It's been a long time since I've had anything to report. I've not done much since December. My dad bought a 40 sedan over the holidays and we went up to Michigan and picked it up after Christmas. He left it here for me to check over and get the mechanicals sorted, so I've been working on it a little, but really I just had no motivation this winter. Well this weekend was decent here, so I decided it was time to make some more progress. Yesterday I swapped my new engine in. Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
Today I mounted my battery box, installed my Winfield intake/carb, Mallory distributor and finished up all of the other little things like spark plugs, fuel lines, etc. Tomorrow I should have battery cables run and floorboards bolted back down. Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
Excellent thread. This exemplifies why I love The HAMB. Such a beautiful, understated, and unique build. Thanks for posting, and please keep the updates coming. Subscribed.
