The one in my '35 Chevy (Mooneyes) and the pearled OEM one going in my '46 Olds. Almost forgot the pearled OEM wheel on my old '66 Fairlane.

  4. I just picked up this 15 inch aluminum steering wheel to resell. It looks like the one that 32coupedeville had in his Model A phantom tub. The center is a little different. I wish it had the writing like his does. I think someone will have to have it for their hotrod. The center will have to be made up to adapt to another type of shaft. Here are some pics. I will post the other one I mentioned as well. Mine will be first. I need to find his pics.

  5. Here is the one 32coupedeville had in his tub. I would say they are the same manufacturer if I had to guess. His carnival ride wheel is really cool if you ask me.

This is what I made for my Ranchero- It's a '64 Comet wheel with the chrome divisions for the two-tone. I welded in butterfly spokes (had to cut away the plastic, then glue the pieces back after) and formed a new center section around the spline. Horn button is an Impala taillight ring with a shortened Moon bullet in the center. It's pretty beat up after 6 years, but it was green and black, need to repaint! I really wanted a Merc S-22 wheel, but too much money! This was my "more time than money" version...

  7. Working on getting this Bell wheel set up in my 34 right now. I love Bell wheels. I have the original center cap for it as well. Gonna be tuff.

Not really 'favorites; but just for
    their shear inherent 'wonkiness'
and "nutso factor" - I present
    for your perusal, edification and
    amazement - 1) "the all new, 1958
Edsel with magic 'Teletouch drive '
    gear selection!"
    steering wheel - "
    and - 2) - "the 'space-age modern'
    Citroen DS Mono-spoke"
    steering
wheel!! Neither in my estimation, is
    exactly 'hot-rod' material, but maybe
an idea at least, for use in some full-tilt
    'radical custom' perhaps???:D

I'm not a fan of new stuff on old rides, but I always liked this aluminum one from Speedway, that has the little grip bumps on the flip side. So, I gave it a shot. After awhile, I was feeling a little creepy about it & felt that it might be clashing with the old stuff. There are so many great old wheels out there, which this thread makes obvious.

Then, I stumbled upon this old concha that someone adeptly grafted to an old beat-up screw on gas cap...probably an old bike. I removed the screw part & (lo & behold) the thing snapped right on the three bolts that hold the wheel to the column. We all know that it is RARE that something like this would happen. It was a sign that it's a keeper.

The early 60's Olds sterring wheel in my "A". I wanted the whole interior of the truck to revolve around the sterring wheel. I had this wheel long before i had the truck.

I'm glad some one posted a '61 impala wheel. I'm on a hunt for one for my '62 but either people hate them and just through them away or they love them and hoard them from anyone else.
