Does your housing have the small bearings like a Mustang? IIRC, backing plates & drums from an 8" will bolt on a small-bearing 9"- and there were some pretty small 6-cylinder 8" brakes. Hope your car is pretty light

Even with smaller drums you'll still need one inch spacers.

I think if I had smaller drums they would fit the wheels, without a spacer

Yeah, if they were about 8"s in diameter. Even with 10" drums spacers are necessary.

My bronco 9" had 10" drums. I changed it over to the 11"backing plates and drums. The 10" drums are very pricey if you can locate them.If you use anything other than the bronco drums you will have to redrill the bolt pattern which is no big deal, just more work..

First generation Broncos could be had with either 10 inch or 11 inch brakes if that helps
Here is the O'Reilly cheat sheet for the 68 Bronco drums

The others answered while I was digging and confirmed that thought in the back of my head that it will still take a spacer to make the wires work with the later drums. I'm running into that with my Model A and the nine inch and 35 wires and will have to have the axles cut that much more to compensate.
