no camping this year. We'll get the first year out of the way then start adding things like that if we have that option at the fairgrounds. in general... we dont do camping at the shows, with the exception of Washington (cuz the fairgrounds has a dedicated campsite area outside the actual fairgrounds area and handles all that with fairgrounds staff)... another reason for not having camping is that it can turn into Lord of the Flies overnight and I am responsible for any and all shenanigans. Someone gets hurt, burns something down, uses a picnic table for firewood, breaks something at the fairgrounds... they come looking for me.
dont get me wrong... i love me a good camp over... if we can work it out at MN we'll do it (just not in the 1st year). Anything that ads to the fun that some people have at the show I'm all for.
Choptop, I've been to events all over and seen what people can and will do to campsites in drunken stupors. I have to say tho, almost every time I have left a campgrounds after a MN car event, the grounds look better than before. Its just something honest and good about the people up here. Especially Northern car people. They respect others stuff more than I have seen elsewhere. Hope to see camping in the future, but I'll sure to be there either way!
How true. But it takes only one ***hole to ruin it for the rest of us(I'm not that one).I'll see you in June.
if there is a good spot at the fairgrounds to do it and they let us... then YES! maybe even if they dont let us... ... but i dont want to get tossed out of a venue in the first year of being there... and the venue is pretty cool. we can do Mini-Bike racing though.
Billetproof has never excluded "rat rods"... that being said Billetproof is not a "rat rod" show.... I'm not going to get into a discussion at the gate because someone thought a car was "too ratty" to be let into the show... trust me... this would (and has) happened.... so they are not excluded specifically, but they arent encouraged either. The rattiest rod I've ever seen at a BP show showed up once... then never came back... as usually is the case. it a truly aweful car shows up its in compe***ion of the Jive-Bomber Trophy. if anyone is interested in making/giving out the Jive Bomber Trophy there will a trophy sign up thread here soon.
If all goes well, maybe this will be the first show I can take the "Safari in Minnesota"... if not I'll be a p***enger in Stacies roadster, and you know I'll be there to drink your beer and talk dadly things with you anyway.. totally looking forward to a great time Alan!
dunye buggies are heartily encouraged... again, as long as they are a 60's style. sleigh? uhhhh... hmm... if its a 40's-50's-60's style thing? Sure. Flaked out and laced up? Better... add hopped up and *****in? even better. Some new snow-mobile? uhhhhhmmm... no.
