:) trying to get some payback??? :)

I see you're also bringing some protection!

I hope that we can find enough fuel to get down there - apparently people are running out of gas here in Atlanta? WTF????

I don't know for sure, but that is the buzz and our secretary called some gas stations and she said they confirmed it. Probably a bunch of hype since Bush is using reserves to help New Orleans.

Looks like I'll be tuning up the Spree - the 46 is on full so I am cool for one weekend of driving and burnouts.

The infamous golf cart is still in the trailer. Nothing's been unloaded from the Mokan trip yet. It will not be at the drive in though. We're going to the 10.5 outlaw drags at Commerce.

Your noggin should be safe, at least for this weekend.

We just need to keep the helmet in the golf car instead of Hellzapoppin.

There was an article in the Atlanta paper this morning about the potential gas shortage here. Local storage facilities keep a 10 day supply and the pipeline that carries gas from the refineries in Louisinana to Atlanta is not operating.

In some cases gas has gone up as much as .75 today. The radio and TV stations have been hyping the story all day. I just got calls from 2 of my employees telling me there are gas lines out onto Stone Mt Freeway and some stations are closed. In other parts of town there are no lines and gas prices are the same as they were yesterday.

It looks like everybody sitting on 3/4 of a tank is topping off. This will be an interesting weekend.

Tudor, If I make the run over, I need you to go stand in line and pump about 10 gals into a gas can, so I can get out of town and back into SC.. Just dont go to the station they show on the news with $5.97 gal prices... yep that is right, almost $6 a gal

    6:30pm update..........

Well I am officially not going now.... Just went down to fill up my wifes ride for her and the guy next to me was fill several 5 gal gas cans telling me his girlfriend called from Ashville NC and said stations up there are starting to run out and so are northern SC stations. Went inside to pay and asked the attendant, she said they will probably run out before a truck arrives and the lady behind me said she drove down to this station because the small stations (2 ea.) in the country were out... Once this hits the news tonight, there will be a panick (some folks are hearing as I went home past several more expensive stations, cars were lining up - more then normal). Its may be a tough weekend I have a feeling for those in the South.

Not worth taking a chance and getting stuck. (I would pay the $3.00 gal price to go to the show, even thou I hate the idea.. not enough shows down here so you have to go to those that are around.)

Yeah, I saw gas prices as high as 3.09 today, and the little station in town is empty--but all the other ones were full. And the sheep are starting to get fidgitty and are starting to all turn the same direction, ready to run blindly when someone yells "Boo!"

One of the guys at work was talking about what Gov. Perdue said. He pointed out that, yes, there is going to be some strain due to the refinery that was hit by the hurricane being taken out, oh yeah--we have a port in Savannah that brings in much of the state's fuel. And guess what? That port didn't get hit by a hurricane.

So once again, we have a media-generated crisis that they have dutifully fanned all damn day.
Shoot the looters, then shoot the talking heads on TV blowing everything else up to crisis proportions.

At the current price it will cost my about $200 in gas to get to Atl and back (figuring prices will be at or above $3.50 to $3.99 by the weekend (its going up 0.40 a day here). It would be a $300 day including gas, food, entry and other **** i would by. and the gas station thing will not get better for another week, as long as the refineries are down and people are worried

I want to go but its just not worth it.

gas is running around 2.79-3.15 around here, on the news last night the pipe line that was shut down is now running at 50%, and will be 75% by the weekend, yah a few stations still closed, but gas trucks are delivering! Too many stupid *** holes that jumped the gun and filled up for no reason and drained the pumps dry...

See there Boones - you already saved 60 bucks. You still gotta pay me for the 10 gallons you had me buy this week at 3.50 a gallon. I get that from ya at Charlotte

    now come on

I know, just wanted to set the record straight. I had to get out of it becuase of all the ******** like the gas hike. I just couldnt deal with all the lies and missinformation.

I called the Doc and tried to convince him to let me ride but he said no way, not till i see him next friday. Oh well, guess i will have to spend time with my family.

I had planned on going but with the gas prices what they are I'll p***. My drivers side rear leaf spring has flattened out and I just got my TCI stuff in, so I'm gonna install it this weekend. Finding one spring that had the right spring rate and then having it dearched was gonna be so much trouble, I drive the 46 so much 75-80K last 6 years, that I figured I'd be better off replacing everything.
