No, it's chopped. In my opinion, it's ridiculous. Proportion sucks. But what do I know?

now this im liking! we build custom bikes here and that one is first class!the only thing that bothers me about this one is the air cleaner. it has a futuristic look to it and dont seem to fit the old school look.anyway this thing gets a thumbs up from us!!!

Doesnt look like a new unit to me. I think its the paint that gives it that appearance.

  12. Hey guys, what's a good color to contrast candy appple red? I have a 30/31 model a roadster on a deuce frame that I'm going to paint candy apple red with scalops, just not sure on the color of the scalops. the base would be silver with silver mini flake or metajuls sprayed over the base and the candy apple red over that. Any suggestions, pics?

a very cool trick that my dad would do, that has stuck with me is. he would lay down a silver flake base, then reverse tape off his design, scallops or flames/lace whatever it was. next he would take another color and spray his design. finally he would apply his candy coat, such as red or whatever. the final results were a darker design within the final color. very subtle but really eye catching. i remember a van with lots of lace and designs done in candy red with the designs giving off a dark brandywine color .

dont know if your going for subtle or loud contrasts,

    just another idea....

Where it says Little foot armory is that lace or what toget that effect. I am getting ready to do a 69 van and would like to get the same effect in the pic it looks like sponge bloches but could be lace if the pic isn't right.

    Looks good! Nice job!

  20. Nicely done! It looks like you got the lace nice and tight without stretching it, and you were able to lay down enough blue to make it really pop over the white. The 1/4" stripe around the edge is a nice touch.

  21. Here was the first part of that...

That car behind the 53 Chevy is in fact a 1937 Dodge Sedan. ;)

It could also be variegated gold leaf.
Or, and I shudder to think this, it could be that crap-looking engine-turned 'gold leaf' vinyl with a silver outline (also vinyl?). I'd hate to think that someone would throw vinyl lettering on something they put that much effort into painting.

I did the roof of my wagon white with HOK Abalone flake, doesn't "pop" as much as I had hoped, would look good on a whole car.

Nate, I've seen your bike in person and it truly is one of the best paintjobs I've ever seen and I've seen thousands.
