Im wanting to know which of these New "retro line" tachs would be the right choice for this Falcon its a B/FX tribute car. The older 1/2 sweep RC/FZ style or the full window Super tach style I am pretty sure the 1/2 sweep style would be the period correct choice but looking for some confirmation for sure as to the correctness for '64/'65 Thanks in advance Mike

The Super would look super. SSTs were definitely available at that time.

I'd go with the 1/2 sweep one, hell I was running Sun tachs in the late 80's when I started driving.

I think the Super came out in the mid 60's, mine has a 65 date on the inside and I am the original owner.

None. Find a real, vintage one. The new ones are mostly plastic Chinese and Taiwanese crap.

I've seen a few reviews of them that said they were not that bad, unlike the Moon Eyes chinese junker that came out.The reviews were pretty good , Metal cup and they seemed to be OK quality wise. But Id like to hear from anyone here that has tried one.

  11. I have the Sun (football) repro and so far so good. My only complaint is that the light has a greenish cast to it which does not match the rest of my gauges but whatevs.

I have the Sun Super Tach and it's been great so far. Mounted on the steering column like a true boy racer. No complaints out of me and it's an exact match to the original (held it next to a NOS one and couldn't tell a single difference).

Post some more pics of the Falcon. That thing look like it's all business!

Thanks, It belongs to my brother, so I dont have many good pics of it, but you're right its a stoplight to stoplight killer, 302 4 speed and 5.43 gear with the Thunderbolt rear ladderbars and suspension under it, makes for a fun little street car.
