It's been quite a while since I posted anything here...

    No, I haven't dumped my vw's and I will not either... ;)

    Just needed to update some.

I bought a Ford -36 V8 pickup project two years ago. Still no visible progress on it though. Mainly collecting parts etc. The PU was originally imported in -36 to Finland as a cowl on chassis and the cab was the coachbuilt over here. The bed was a wooden bed. The cool thing with the coachbuilt cab is that it has a lower top. In other words the roof is lower which makes it look as it was choped even if it isn't..

My latest project is a Hotrod for my kid... It is yes, again based on a bug body... (shoot me if you feel for it) The body is completely scaled down 3/4 and will get a frontend from an early Ford Anglia complete with leafspring and wishbone. I will have some Q's regarding the frontend assembly in the very near future...

For those who might be interested, here is a link to the kid rod...:

And for those who don't care for it just leave it.. I would.. ;)

  2. Do you have any pics of the 36 pickup? I would like to see the differences you speak of.

Just this one assembled. Taken in about -58 before my grand dad started to dissasamble it... Luckily it never was scrapped but my and my uncle collected all of it in 1970. He never did do anything with it though so I bought it back two years ago in boxes... :)

Been like ages. And sorry, no updates regarding the 36... But been going through the pile of parts and was a bit confused regarding the castiron cylinderheads. One says Ford in the cast but the other says RMS...? They look exactly the same just mirror images offcourse... :)

The engine is from the info I have got a -36 truck flathead V8 (85hp?)

Ok, done some investigation and found out that RMS stands for Rauta ja Metallivalimo Suomi. Translated: Steel and Cast-iron foundry Suomi.

Appearantly during WWII we had a shortage in Ford spareparts so the Finnish metalfoundry started producing many Ford Motorcompany's engineparts as cylinderheads and even complete enginecases have been found.
