We finally did it! 2xcrash and I.

The 54 Plymouth made its maiden voyage today. Its been about 6 months of working on this thing every weekend. whew! A SBC 5.0 liter Pontiac Formula Firebird motor swap, 700r4 trans added, some paint/flake, custom sheetmetal...and lovin'!

To share the fun, 53Burb, Low Springs and Nobu came out to visit, talk shop and turn a few wrenches too....Thanks guy for comming out! Oh, and next time...53Burb bring some rags to wear so you can get under the car too!! :D

We threw in a milk crate...isnt that the way to do it for the first run? Fired up the car and backed into the street. 2xcrash took his ride for the first time to the fuel station down the street...stomped on the gas and rode it all the way out. Unfortunately, the radiator cap was not on tight and water spewed all over...but hey...if it was a perfect run...I would instantly think everthing was wrong. :)

It was a great to see and very rewarding...here are some picts

I didnt think the motor would give much power, but damn, I took it out and was nearly thrown off the milk crate 3 times after whacking the throttle.

It sounds mean (20" cherry bombs) and has the power to back it up. Now we have to fine tune the trans.

Replaced the silnoid (sp) and the dip stick was found :D .

This thing is a blast. when I got it on the street I went to the gas station to fill up. No front seat cause we're still working on the inside, sitting on a milk crate, give it some gas and about came off the box  ... Once the little bugs get worked out this car is going to be a scream....
Thanks to Chopped50ford for all the help, I've learned alot in the last few months and look forward to getting a few Hot Rods up and running in the next few months too

Naaaaahhhh, I always use empty buckets, turned upside down...that way, when people ask, dumbfounded: "What'd you do for seats?" You can tell them: "Awww man, I just used some used "buckets!" They'll be impressed!
