Iam trying to put my 1963 Catalina back to factory specs. It's a original 421 4 speed car. I was wondering if it came with a long tail t10 or a short tail t10. I'm pretty sure it's a short tail but I want to be 100 percent sure. Also I have a 63 corvette t10, will that work as long as I have the right bell housing and driveshaft yolk?

My '62 gp had a short tail t-10.odd mount that looked like a muffler clamp on the end of the tailshaft.hope this helps.

If it was an early car it had a short tail housing t10 and if a late car a long tail housing Muncie with the small diameter counter shaft. I am told the various assembly plants went to the Muncie at different times but have no idea when. Firewall's went from body color to black mid year about February/March although that too differed by assembly plant I suppose.

I see. My car was a may 63 car so I think it is a short tail t10. Thanks for the info.
