46-52? Reo cab dimensions?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by rustynewyorker, Dec 7, 2012.

  1. Anyone have a big postwar Reo sitting around that could tell me how wide one is, how tall from the frame top to the window beltline, and length from axle center to cab back and to the tip of the nose? Width at the cowl and between the fenders would be good too. The ones I'm looking for have that pointed nose with louvered sides for a grille.

The reason I ask is I picked up a '93 GMC one ton dually a while back to use as a car hauler and general tow truck. I got it cheap because the body is rough on it, and I was thinking instead of redoing it stock it might be just as easy to make it a little more interesting with an early cab. But a lot of early cabs are too narrow for the track on these. A big Reo has that neat nose on it and big wide fenders, assuming it would fit over the motor and on the frame without hacking it to bits it might do the job.

It actually looks like if I used the Reo bumper I might have to stretch the front frame a bit, they seem to have more front overhang than the GMC does.

  2. Going to bump this once. I figured it was probably a long shot.
